10 Workers' compensation benefits 10
11 Social assistance payments or provincial or territorial supplements 11
  • Enter this amount on lines 14500 and 25000 of your income tax and benefit return. However, if you lived with your spouse or common-law partner when you received the social assistance payments or provincial or territorial supplements, the spouse or common-law partner with the higher net income has to report this amount. If you and your spouse or common-law partner have the same net income, the person whose name is on the slip has to report this amount. The spouse or common-law partner who reports this amount as income can claim an equivalent deduction on line 25000.
  • If you received workers' compensation benefits and social assistance payments in the same year, report each of these amounts on the appropriate lines (14400 and 14500) of your income tax and benefit return. However, you do not pay tax on them since you can claim a deduction on line 25000 that equals the total of both amounts you report as income.
  • If you have questions about the amount of benefits on the front of this slip, contact your workers' compensation board or your social services agency.
