  You shall be able to use any modern browser (namely, Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, IE, Safari, Opera, ...) with EachTax.com.

However, if you happen to experience compatibility issue, we recommend:
  • Upgrading to use the latest version of your browser.
  • Restoring your browser to default settings.
  • Trying not to use your browser in privacy mode.

8. How does the Free Filing program work?  
 
  Free Filing Offering for New Customers

If you are a new customer, you can file each of the tax returns (regardless of the income level) in your account for free for tax year 2025; provided that the tax return (identified by SIN) was not filed using EachTax.com in any previous tax year. Note that once a ".tax" file or a PDF file for a tax return is generated/downloaded, the return is considered filed/prepared within the context determining the eligibility for free filing.

Free Filing Offering for tax return with $25,000 or less Income

You can file any one of the tax returns in your account for free for tax year 2025 if the income of the specific return (line 15000 on T1) is $25,000 or less.

11. Can I just pay with my credit card without registering a PayPal account?  
 
  Yes! You don't have to register a PayPal account to make a payment. Just select "Don't have a PayPal account" on the paypal payment page and pay directly using your credit card.

12. Why I was asked to enter the password for my PayPal account when I was using my credit card to make the payment?  
 
  That means you somehow created a PayPal account in the past and your credit card was linked to that account.

Please try the following:

  1. Use a different credit card if you have:
    - select "Don't have a PayPal account" (you don't have to create a PAYPAL account), and
    - use a different email address.
    Or,

  2. If you like to pay using the same credit card that has already been linked to a PayPal account, you will need to enter your password/pin for your paypal account and follow the instructions.

13. Does EachTax.com automatically NetFile my return to CRA once the payment is made?  
 
  No!

We are not allowed to automatically NetFile your return to CRA. You will need to do this yourself.
(Simply click the NETFILE button on the tool bar and follow the instructions to NetFile your return to CRA.).

14. Will I get a confirmation code/number once I NetFiled my tax return?  
 
  Yes!

You will get a confirmation code/number from CRA NetFILE service once you have successfully NetFiled your return to CRA. This NetFILE confirmation code/number will be displayed in the left navigation area just above Form Lookup. It will also be displayed when you click the Net/ReFILE button.

Please keep the confirmation number in case you need to contact CRA for processing status of your return.

  The ".tax" or ".ws" files are for NETFILE purpose only, not for printing your tax returns.

To print hard copies of your tax returns, please click the Print button on the top Navigation bar and follow the instructions on the Print page.

18. Can I repeat the process of printing, reviewing, changing and then printing my return as many times as I like before NetFiling it?  
 
  Yes!

You can print, review, change and print as many times as you want.

The only thing to make sure is that you do not NetFile your return to CRA until you are satisfied with your return.

20. What do you attach/include with your return using NetFILE and what records do you keep?  
 
 
  • If you are filing your return electronically using NetFILE, it is not needed/required to attach your tax slips, receipts, etc. Just keep them for records in case the CRA asks to see them later.

  • If you are filing a paper return, the information in your paper return will tell you which supporting documents need to be attached, such as certificates, forms, schedules, slips, or receipts.

21. How do I sign my return for NetFILE?  
 
 
  • Signature of your name is not needed/required to NetFILE your return electronically. You must sign your printed return for paper filing only.

  • However, you shall enter your NetFILE access code when using NetFILE and it serves as your signature for NetFILE.

22. Can I refile a tax return? If yes, how?  
 
  Yes!

Please sign into the specific tax year and make applicable changes to your return, and then click Net/ReFILE button and follow the instructions.

It is recommended to print your return as a PDF file for reference prior to amending and refiling your tax return.

    Please enter your tax data on various tax slips/receipts/worksheets instead.

26. Why certain tax credits/fields/lines are not calculated on my return? I am stuck.  
 
  Certain tax credits (fields/lines) will not be calcuated if any information required by CRA is missing.
e.g.,
  • Certain federal and provincial or territorial non-refundable tax credits can not be claimed if you are married or living common-law and the net income of your spouse or common-law partner is not entered on page 1 of your T1 form.
  • Certain federal and provincial or territorial non-refundable tax credits will not calculated/prorated correctly if you are a newcomer to Canada and your Canadian sourced income and foreign sourced income while living outside of Canada is not provided.

Please click the Review button on the top navigation bar for error checking and follow the instructions to fix any error found.

Field calculated automatically, but can be overridden by user input. Click on the field to receive a prompt to confirm whether you want to override the calculated value. To remove the override value, delete the input and 'Save' the changes, refresh the page to see calculated value again.

  You can prepare a maximum of 20 tax returns in each account (identified by CustmerID).

To add a new return, please click the "Add Return" button on the top navigation bar.

To switch between different tax returns, please use the "Tax Returns" drop down selection box on the left side.

31. My spouse does not have any income. Why the Spouse or Common-law Partner Amounts do not show up at field 30300 on T1 and field 58120 on provincial form 428?  
 
  You must enter on T1 the net income of your spouse or common-law partner (from field 23600 on his or her T1: if zero, enter 0.00 instead of leaving it blank) in order to claim the Spouse or Common-law Partner Amounts (field 30300 on T1, field 58120 on provincial 428) and other tax credits. Otherwise, those federal and provincial claims for the spouse or common-law partner cannot be made/calculated as per CRA requirement.

  Please make sure that you haved entered on T1 the net income of your spouse or common-law partner (from field 23600 on his or her T1: if zero, enter 0.00 instead of leaving it blank) in order to get the chid care amount calculated properly.

  • For there return you do not want to claim field 30499/30500, please answer NO for the question below on the Dependant worksheet for the specific child:

    Line 30500 - Canada caregiver amount for infirm children under 18 years of age (born in 2008 or later)
    Do you want to claim this amount for this dependant?

  • For "Child care expenses" (see line 21400 on T1), please just fill out RECEIPT_CHILDCARE and use form T778 to claim.

34. I have entered RRSP contribution receipts, why my RRSP deduction amount does not show up on line 20800 (form T1 and Schedule 7)?  
 
  For the RRSP deduction, besides entering the RRSP contribution receipts, you also need to provide the following on worksheet WS_RRSP_HBP_LLP (RRSP Deduction, and HBP or LLP Worksheet):

  • Your RRSP deduction limit for 2025 (amount A) of your "2025 RRSP Deduction Limit Statement" on your 2024 Notice of Assessment or Notice of Reassessment.

  • Unused RRSP contributions from line B of your "2025 RRSP Deduction Limit Statement" on your 2024 Notice of Assessment or Notice of Reassessment.

48. What is the two-step authentication (2SA)? How do I enable or disable it?  
 
  The two-step authentication (2SA) is an account security measure.

When the 2SA is enabled, you will need to enter the authentication code to sign in. A 2SA code will sent to the registered email address each time the correct password is entered. You may also use a TOTP authenticator app on your smart phone to generate a 2SA code yourself (please see account_settings for setup instructions).
